So I've seen the complaining about Live Notifications. So this is how you turn off Instagram live notifications:
- Go to your profile page. At the upper right corner press the three vertical dots.
- Scroll down to the "Settings" section and select "Push Notifications"
- Scroll down to "Live Videos" and then select "Off" and exit settings.
The nightmare is over! (See photos below)
